Our Leaders, Parents and Girls that have passed on, we will remember them around the campfire and in their pink shirts!  Until we meet again!

Luke Stockstill
1956-2024

The Stockstill family came to our troop about 12 years ago, when Katherine became a Daisy.  And if you know our troop we love our dads, and Luke was no exception.

He was what I would call one of our silent parents.  Silent in that, he would silently just show up to help us even when we didn’t realize just how much we needed him.

He never missed an opportunity to camp with the troop, even when the girls became teen agers and it became difficult to find drivers, Luke would load up his van with girls and a chuck box, that he built for the troop and get them to camp.

He would show up at each and every Derby Race to help girls make sure their cars weighed exactly 5 ounces after showing up to help put the track together the night before.

And when the troop decided to have a boat race instead, he built two water troughs for the troop.

I don’t believe he ever missed a roundup, a troop camp or father/daughter.

And  As the girls began to learn how to light propane stoves, cook in dutch ovens and learn camping skills…Luke would silently sit back and observe, never getting excited, just being there to make sure they were safe and let them learn.  Smiling that smile of his when they started succeeding.

The pink shirt family will certainly miss him around the campfire and on derby day.  Luke was one of our special parents.

Thank you Katherine and Maria for sharing Luke with us.

Brandy Martin
1983-2022

Brandy was an Alumni of our sister troop 99 and later became a leader of Troop 798!  Her beautiful smile and quiet demeanor is what I will remember most!  She loved to laugh and always went along with the flow.  Dressing up, even when I’m sure she didn’t want to.  Patiently teaching the girls new skills, even when they didn’t want to!  Dealing with adolescents like a champ.

She loved to travel with the troop and came along on the trips pretty much every time.  She had a whit about her that kept people wondering if she was really as introverted as she seemed!

We will miss her around the campfire, at campouts, on trips and each Tuesday night!  Until we meet again a pink shirt and shooting star from Troop 99.

Tuesday nights and campouts just won't be the same without you....Who will bring puzzles for us to put together when it is rainy or cold outside?  Who will keep us all in line with our payments?  Who will take all the tents, chairs and gear down early to camp and set up our tents? Who will teach our girls how to crochet or be their tutor in math?  We will certainly be lost without her.  I know you are in a better place without pain..I will be looking for you when I get there and I know where to find you, you will be in sitting around a campfire eating a S'more in your Pink Shirt!  As the girl scout song says;
I want to linger, mhhmm
A little longer, mhhmm
A little longer here with you, mmhhmmm
