2013 - Morgan Patton
Sew in Love – Connected a timeless skill with an identifiable need to provide chemotherapy patients at the OU Children’s Hospital with hats. When asked why she selected the OU Children’s Hospital, she replied, “this hospital helps children from all over the world and touches lives”. This task allowed Mogan to share her love of sewing with younger girls. She held dewing classes with the main purpose of making the ats for donation. In the end, 66 hats were delivered to the OU Children’s Hospital. Many girls have discovered a new talent and passion to take Morgan’s idea forward by making hats, blankets and much more. Morgan used newly formed contacts at the Oklahoma child Care Services to share her project, goals and secure delivery of her donation. She shared her journey with her friends and family through social media, igniting the community interest to get involved to make fabric donations.
